African Americans in Congress

February 24 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Cost: $15 per girl

Explore the past, present, and future with us as we complete the African Americans in Congress  Council’s Own Patch Program.  During this workshop, girls will become members of the Congressional Black Caucus and will interact with their “colleagues” on important issues.

Girls should bring a water bottle and snack.  The cost of this event does not include the cost of the patches, which should be purchased by troop leaders or parents.

Our badge workshops allow your troop to learn new things, gain leadership skills, and build on valuable interpersonal skills. If you are looking for a workshop that we don't have, let us know. We would love to work with you to create a custom workshop for your troop.

A Girl Scout Journey allows Girl Scouts to implement the skills she learns through regular Girl Scout activities. Journeys give girls the opportunity to identify a problem within their community, develop and implement a plan of action with a team, and finally talk about the process when it is complete.

Award retreats give girls who are working towards their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards the opportunity to come together with others within their council to brainstorm ideas and to talk about time management and stress management as they work towards completion of their projects.

Take a look at the events we are currently offering.  We are always scheduling new events.  However, if your troop, Service Unit, or Association has a need, we would love to work with you to schedule your specific event.  This is an ideal option because we travel to your location within the Metropolitan DC area.
