A Girl Scout Journey allows Girl Scouts to implement the skills she learns through regular Girl Scout activities. Journeys give girls the opportunity to identify a problem within their community, develop and implement a plan of action with a team, and finally talk about the process when it is complete.
Award retreats give girls who are working towards their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards the opportunity to come together with others within their council to brainstorm ideas and to talk about time management and stress management as they work towards completion of their projects.
Take a look at the events we are currently offering. We are always scheduling new events. However, if your troop, Service Unit, or Association has a need, we would love to work with you to schedule your specific event. At Bridging Leaders, we are passionate about the Girl Scout movement. We believe quality scouting programming provides wonderful leadership opportunities for girls. More importantly, scouting affords girls the opportunity to work within a team in order to develop interpersonal skills, which will provide them lifelong benefits.
In our view, Girl Scouting should allow girls to have opportunities to lead, even when we plan events. This means our staff won’t immediately intervene when girls have a problem. However, we will facilitate creative problem solving in an age appropriate manner.
The Girl Scout Research Institute has found Girl Scouts girls who have participated in more Girl Scout Leader Experiences (i.e., girl led, cooperative learning, learning by doing) are: substantially more likely to develop leadership skills, are more likely to consider themselves leaders, and are more likely to see female leaders in a positive way. Let us help you provide this kind of experience for your troop.
